Meet
Dr. Ahmet Sami Bosnak
Clinical Pharmacist. Educator. Innovator. Builder of ideas that refuse to stay inside a classroom.
Most people spend their careers choosing one road.
Dr. Ahmet Sami Bosnak somehow chose all of them.
He graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Pharmacy in 1998 and began his career as a community pharmacist. For six years, he stood behind the counter, solving real-life problems, listening to patients, and learning that pharmacy is not only about medicines — it is about people.
Then he became curious.
Too curious.
Between 2004 and 2006, he worked as a consultant in Medical Devices CE Certification at the European Union Business Development Center in Turkey. Around the same time, he completed his MSc in Molecular Genetics in 2004, proving that apparently running out of things to learn was never part of the plan.
In 2006, Dr. Bosnak entered the world of oncology pharmacy at Gaziantep University Oncology Hospital as Chief Pharmacist. There, he did not simply manage a system — he built one.
He established Turkey’s first Central Chemotherapy Drug Preparation Unit, pioneering safer and more advanced chemotherapy preparation techniques. In 2010, the Turkish Parliament invited him to brief the Parliamentary Investigation Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) about the new methods he had developed in chemotherapy drug preparation and clinical pharmacy.
Because when you create something important, eventually people ask you to explain how you did it.
Dr. Bosnak continued pushing forward. In 2009, he founded the Turkish Oncology Pharmacists Association (TOPA) and still serves as Chairman of the Board. He later became the Founding President of the Asian, African and Middle Eastern Hospital Pharmacists Association (AAMEHP), proving that apparently founding one professional organization was not enough.
Between 2013 and 2020, he served as Vice President of the European Society of Oncology Pharmacy (ESOP), representing pharmacists and oncology professionals on an international stage.
But there was another side to him.
He loved teaching.
Since 2015, Dr. Bosnak has taught Oncology Pharmacy and Nutritional Support Pharmacy, sharing not only information, but stories, experience, and the kind of practical wisdom that students actually remember after the exam is over.
He has worked as a visiting lecturer at Near East University, Eastern Mediterranean University, and Adakent University, and since 2020 he has been a full-time faculty member and Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at Cyprus International University.
Today, he also serves as:
-
Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy
-
Director of the CIU Drug Information Center
And yes, somehow he still finds time to create new ideas.
Dr. Bosnak completed his PhD in Clinical Pharmacy in 2018. He has written and edited scientific journals, continuing education articles, public education materials, and two books:
-
Oncology Pharmacist’s Handbook
-
Clinical Oncology Pharmacy in 10 Steps
He also translated Quality Standards of Oncology Pharmacy into Turkish and created the first and only certified training program in Turkey and Northern Cyprus on “Antineoplastic Drug Preparation Techniques and Safe Room Management.”
Along the way, he received:
-
The 2010 Turkish Pharmacists’ Chamber Academy Jury Special Award for Promising and Qualified Scientific Studies
-
The Distinguished Graduate Award from Gazi University for Contributions to the Pharmacy Profession
Today, Dr. Bosnak represents his country in international R&D projects, robotic medical industry initiatives, scientific boards, and educational innovation projects.
He is also the founder of SentiApps, Drug Detectives, and other new-generation educational platforms that combine pharmacy, AI, XR, clinical reasoning, and interactive learning.
Because after years of teaching, he realized something:
Students do not struggle because they are not intelligent.
They struggle because education often teaches memorization when it should teach decision-making.
So Dr. Bosnak decided to build something better.
And he is still building.
